Heading into its 28th year, Candy & Kites is a Bodega Bay icon. Proprietors Dave and Fiona Love bought the business from the original owners in 2003.
Visitors to the shop — full of kites, candy, wind socks, garden spinners, toys, saltwater taffy and books — are often greeted by the Love’s friendly dog, Lola.
The shop has something for just about everyone. “People are often surprised by how much merchandise we can pack into 600 square feet,” says Fiona.
Candy & Kites carries a wide variety of kites, from basic to advanced.
The Loves say they’ve always wanted to live by the ocean, and now they spend every morning walking Lola on the beach. “We love living in Bodega Bay,” they say.
